HOUSE INFORMATION
All early arrivals are requested to wait in the outer auditorium hallways until the performers have completed their rehearsal, sound and lighting checks, and have left the auditorium stage. The ushers will open the auditorium doors approximately 45 minutes before curtain time, however, we may experience a delay. The auditorium hosts will be available inside the auditorium to assist you with seating. There is no assigned or reserved seating available in the auditorium for our concert membership.
Programs, services and activities of the Grand Island Concert Association are operated in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you need special accommodations as the result of a disability, please call Mr. Don Brittin, (308) 382-4176, at least three days prior to the event to assure that we can accomodate your needs. The handicapped accessible door to the auditorium is located at the east entrance. FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE
Restrooms, drinking fountains and public telephones are located in the south auditorium foyer. Please ask any concert host if you have difficulty locating them.
Lost and Found items my be reported or claimed directly after the concert by checking at the box office table in the main hallway, or call Mr. Don Brittin at 308-382-4176 if you have already left the auditorium.
The emergency telephone numbers during a performance are (308) 390-5138 or (308) 390-9880. Please take a moment to identify the nearest lighted exit sign if an evacuation becomes necessary. If you hear a weather emergency announcement while outside the seating area, please follow posted emergency procedures. CONCERT ETIQUETTE
Unauthorized cameras and all recording devices are not allowed inside the auditorium at any time. All electronic paging devices, cellular telephone, or other communication devices must be turned off or switched to a silent mode prior to the start of the performance.
The Grand Island Senior High School is a smoke-free institution. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building or on the outer school property. Food and beverages are not permitted inside the auditorium. Thank you for observing these policies.
You are requested to wait at the outer auditorium doors until there is a break in the performance. No one should be seated while a selection is being performed. Because of a generally full-house, it would be desirable to use the balcony for seating if you are able. Our ushers have been asked to enforce this policy as a matter of courtesy to all patrons and performers.
Moving about the auditorium by audience members should only occur during the intermission or in case of an emergency. If you must leave the auditorium during the performance, we ask that you leave between a break in selections so you will not be a distraction to others. It is also asked that you do not engage in any conversation once the performance has begun.
The Grand Island Concert Association welcomes children above the age of three to its performances; however, if your child becomes restless during the performance, we request that as a courtesy to the audience and performing musicians, you retire to the outer foyer of the auditorium.
The intermission is generally 10-15 minutes in length. The hallways lights will be dimmed just prior to the end of intermission as a signal for patrons to return to their seats.
Applause is a natural and appreciated response for the artistŐs performance. Please show your respect by clapping at the end of a work, and at the entrance or exit of the performance. Many musical works contain multiple movements. Check the program for the appropriate times to clap and show your appreciation, and do not clap between movements of any musical composition. Concert guests are also asked to remain standing after an ovation or seated until the conclusion of the performance and the house lights are at full illumination. Thank you for you kind attention and consideration of good concert etiquette.
