Our History

In the autumn of 1931, the Grand Island Community Concert Association was organized, which was a licensee of Columbia Artists, a New York-based corporation. Artists were chosen from a syllabus presented by Columbia Artists, Inc.

In 1988, our name was changed to the Grand Island Concert Association, and we currently secure our professional concerts exclusively from Allied Concert Services, Inc., of Minnetonka, Minnesota.

For more than seventy years, our Association has enriched the cultural life of our greater Grand Island, Nebraska, communities. We have showcased musicians who have interpreted works of the great composers and have offered to the community symphonic, chamber music, instrumental and vocal soloists, choirs, opera, ballet, folk dance, and most recently, jazz venues.

Our loyal membership is principally drawn from a hundred mile radius of Grand Island, Nebraska, and is by season membership or subscription only. Membership is open to new individuals each new concert campaign as seating permits in the Grand Island Senior High School auditorium.

Our musical concert association is a 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code organization, and its affairs are solely directed by a volunteer Board of Directors. community concerts in Grand Island NE
